Concrete Deterioration, Cause and Effects
Discussion of the causes of concrete deterioration and how to identify these issues in order to recommend the proper repair products and procedures. What causes concrete to deteriorate? This presentation shows how in order to address the effects of concrete deterioration with a repair material, you must first identify the cause of this deterioration.
Speaker: Rick First, BASF
Rick is a Sr. Technical Product Specialist with over 25 years of experience in the construction industry. Rick began his career with Master Builders as an R&D Scientist in 1994 where he worked in the areas of concrete petrography and cement-admixture interactions. Over the years, Rick has assisted in the development of many concrete repair, grout, flooring, and shotcrete products. Currently, Rick supports the flooring, repair and grout product lines. He provides field support and coordinates both internal and external product training. Rick holds a Master of Science Degree in Materials Science & Engineering from Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, OH.
