NTX Virtual Chapter Meeting

Technical Presentation: What lurks under your floors?
There are many reasons flooring systems fails, and moisture is one of the biggest culprits. This presentation will teach design professional how excess moisture in concrete slabs can lead to flooring system failures. It also covers methods for testing concrete slabs prior to the installation of flooring systems, and presents potential solutions to prevent flooring system failures due to moisture.
Objectives:
• Understand how flooring systems can be negatively affected by excess moisture in concrete slabs
• Understand ASTM test methods available for testing concrete slabs
• Identify where excess moisture in concrete slabs originates
• Identify possible solutions for mitigating excess moisture in concrete slabs to ensure successful installation of flooring solutions
Speaker: Steve Bradway, Vice President, Aquafin Inc.
Steve has been in the commercial construction materials industry for over 30 years with a focus on concrete repair, structural strengthening, waterproofing and flooring technologies. His background includes field experience in materials installation on a broad range of commercial and industrial construction projects, as well as 20+ years focused in technical sales for material suppliers. Steve joined Aquafin in 2012 and is primarily responsible for business development and product offerings.
