November Membership Meeting

Join us for the NTX November Membership Meeting!

Time: 11:30 AM: networking and lunch, 12 PM – 1 PM: meeting and presentation

Presenter: Doug Beer, PE, Construction & Maintenance Branch Manager at Texas Department of Transportation

Mr. Beer is a graduate of Colorado School of Mines. After college, he spent a year working for a geotechnical and inspection firm where he was exposed to construction of all types. He began work with TxDOT in the Wichita Falls Area Office in 1998, and spent the next 19 years serving as the construction engineer over all roadway and bridge projects. He joined Bridge Division Construction & Maintenance in 2017 and currently serves as the Branch Manager.

Presentation topics will include:

• Current and forecasted bridge letting
• Funding sources and programs for bridge rehabilitation and preservation
• Common types of structural repair being targeted in these repair projects
• Challenges for construction and inspection
