Topic: What is FRCM?
Fabric-Reinforced Cementitious Matrix or FRCM is an alternative to FRP. FRCM combines a sprayable mortar with a carbon-fiber grid to create thin-walled, reinforced concrete shells without adding significant weight or mass to the structure. Its advantages are similar to those of FRP (that is, strength, low weight, and ease of application), but also that it may be applied to repair and resurface, strengthen and protect in one application, as well as greater resistance to heat and better long-term durability.
This presentation will introduce this technology and cover applications where FRCM may be used in lieu of traditional FRP. This presentation will also cover ‘lessons learned’ featuring a project profile.
