Developing Effective Company Training Programs
In today’s concrete construction industry, with high employee turnover, new material technologies, industry regulations, and a heightened safety focus, effective employee training programs are a paramount business function. This discussion focuses on creating a program that will actively engage learners, making them more likely to retain and use the knowledge in their job functions, translating to better employee retention and more efficient use of training resources. Topics will include:
- Constructing a training program consistent with company strategy
- Employing adult learning principles to engage today’s diverse audiences
- Setting clear learning goals and objectives
- Measuring a training program’s effectiveness
Presenter Background
Dave has been in the construction materials industry for 30 years in technical capacities working for PPG, ICI, Degussa, BASF and ICRI. As a subject matter expert in Coatings, Sealants, Flooring Systems and Concrete Repair materials, he has designed, developed and delivered in person and virtual technical training programs throughout his career. Dave holds a Masters in Adult Education and Training.
